FIRST DAY BEST DAY! Everybody is officially in Govy for camp! We had a few (extremely) early airport runs, but everyone was collected, along with (most of) the bags. We had a team lunch at chick-fil-a, and their shakes are definitely a team favorite. There was a Fred Meyers just across the street, so of course we had to explore. The west-coast Kroger was bigger than any store we’ve ever seen, but we just had to wander the maze. The kitchen is now fully stocked (not for long), with a wide variety of energy bars and gummies. All a racer’s essentials! JP had a bit of a bad experience with the milk once we got home (picture below), but all was resolved. Dinner was some delicious pizza pies ordered by the man himself and of course we got the dehydration talk at team meeting. We have an amazing group of people this session, and are all so excited to get on some summer snow tomorrow!!

"My daughter has skied with JP nearly her entire racing career, since she was a pre-teen. He is an exceptional ski coach, and an outstanding human being. Everything he does is at the highest level, and with the most attention to detail. JP’s experience in delivering high level race camps translates beautifully to his youth ski program. The athletes need only spend a week on the hill with him to see their personal ski goals met. The best part is that JP‘s heart is in everything he does, and he takes care of the athletes as if they were his own. His word is gold. Just like his coaching. We think the world of him."
